This is a blog for avid readers of longform journalism, those who write it (or try to, like me), and those who are looking for fresh writing styles from a wide variety of wordsmiths, from the best magazines out there, and from as far back as Tom Wolfe’s 1966 “New Journalism” debut. Though amid a heavy “digital age” wherein young people want their information 24/7 in few words with big pictures and colorful graphics, literary journalism has enjoyed rising success. Here’s to celebrating that.
Most of the stories will come from longform.org, longreads.com, byliner.com, gangrey.com, and other web sites advocating quality over quantity. Contact me for story suggestions or comments: Meagan.Flynn@drake.edu; @Meagan_Flynn.
Meagan Flynn is a senior at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and a former intern at New York magazine and Texas Monthly. To learn more, visit: meaganeflynn.com.
